Future of beloved Bradley and Barney Walsh show on ITV gets major update
Bradley and Barney Walsh have been fronting Breaking Dad since 2019.
Bradley and Barney Walsh are reportedly returning for a seventh series of Breaking Dad.
The father and son duo have been fronting their own hilarious travelogue series since 2019, with the most recent trip around Japan and Thailand airing in April and May last year.
Now, TVZone has reported that the pair - who also host Gladiators together - filmed a new batch of episodes towards the end of last year, with plans for the programme to air on ITV1 and ITVX this spring.
Although ITV is yet to officially announce the new series, it's said that Hungry Bear Media production listings and "an updated CV from Barney Walsh's agency" confirm the show's return.
As well as Breaking Dad, Bradley is keeping busy with a fresh new spinoff The Chase Around The World.
The new format will see six pairs of contestants trying to track down the UK's biggest brains in secret locations across the globe.
To do so, they'll be putting their general knowledge, intellect, puzzle-solving and observational skills to the test as they try to discover landmarks and iconic spots.
The last duo to arrive at the destination will be forced to face the Chasers in a head-to-head battle which they must win to continue in the game.
Barney said in a statement: "This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestant’s knowledge like never before.
"The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them ply their trade in some superb secret locations."
And in a joint statement, Sue Murphy, Director of Factual Entertainment Commissioning at ITV and Kate Teckman, Head of Development and Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment at ITV, said: "The Chase Around The World is a really exciting new format taking the DNA of Britain’s most iconic quiz into epic real-world locations, in a high-stakes battle of knowledge.
"The show is full of surprises, problem-solving, and fantastic play-along for viewers. "Combined with The Chasers’ intellect and host Bradley’s inimitable wit, viewers are in for an absolute treat in this brand-new iteration of a much-loved brand."
