Rita Moreno is looking forward to being "insulted" on her 95th birthday.

The West Side Story actress reaches the milestone age in December and she's already planning a celebratory dinner with friends, and she's happy to be the butt of their jokes as well as the subject of their toasts.

She told E! News: "We're going to have a dinner and I'm sure people will be insulting me all night.”

Rita confirmed she will "absolutely" be roasted by her friends and added: "Why not?

“They can do whatever they damn want. It's just a wonderful way to celebrate. So, I can't wait.”

Rita is proud of everything she has achieved in her career because she "earned" it all herself.

She said: “Who helped me? Nobody, because if there had been people helping me, I probably would have gotten farther than I did.

“I owe nobody anything.

“I don't say that with bitterness but I say it with a sense of attitude, because I deserve it and I earned it.”

Rita previously spoke of how she is "very honest" when it comes to talking about her own mortality with her daughter Fernanda, whom she had with her late husband, Leonard Gordon.

She told People magazine: "I’m just so lucky that we’ve gotten to know each other so well. We’re very honest, and our talks can be very serious, very intimate.

"There are times I really need her wisdom, more often than you would think now that I’m 92.

"I think that as you, the parent, gets older, I believe that the child has to be thinking about, 'Well, at some point this will end.'

"It's not something that Fernanda and I sit and discuss, but I just know that she has to think about.

"I think we're both pretty brave about it. Well, we're really honest — very, very honest with each other."

The Fast X star noted that she and her daughter still like to do things together regularly, whilst Fernanda explained that their close bond is often a source of envy for other mothers and daughters.

She said: "We both like to get a lot out of life, we go and do things that we enjoy. We shop together and we travel together."

Fernanda added: "We constantly have people picking up on our closeness and commenting, 'I wish I felt that way about my mom!'"
