The One Shows' Alex Jones: 'Ted is more comfortable in his own skin than I have ever been'
Alex Jones marked her son Ted’s ninth birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, celebrating his confidence, kindness and the joy he brings to their family.
Alex Jones says her nine-year-old son is "more comfortable in his own skin than [she has] ever been".
The 48-year-old TV presenter penned a heartfelt tribute to Ted - whom she has with her husband, insurance broker Charlie Thomson - to mark his birthday, via Instagram, on Thursday (22.01.26).
Alex shared a photo carousel on the social media platform, which featured a hospital photo of her and Charlie bonding with Ted, Alex and her son looking out to sea whilst on a trip, and Ted's birthday cake
Her caption started by revealing how they celebrated his special day.
She penned: "Today we are celebrating Ted’s 9th year on the planet. It started with a kitchen disco and balloon games at 5.10am and cake at 6.40! (sic)"
Alex - who also has son Kit, six, and daughter Annie, four, with Charlie - then admitted she gets emotional by how quickly her bundles of joy are growing up.
She continued: "I could go on and on about how much I hate how quickly time goes, we all feel it don’t we?
"I can hardly bear to look back at pictures of them when they were tiny because it just brings me to tears.
"But at the same time, I try not to linger too long in the past because it’s just as important to enjoy the present version that will also disappear in a blink of an eye. (sic)"
Alex then lauded Ted for embracing life and being protective of his siblings.
The One Show presenter wrote: "Ted is more comfortable in his own skin than I have ever been, quick witted, laughs easily, sharp as a tack, kind as they come an absolute hero to Kit and Annie. (sic)"
Alex concluded her gushing birthday tribute for Ted by crediting him for bringing so much joy and happiness into her, Charlie, Kit and Annie's lives.
Alex typed: "Life is brilliant for us all with him in it. Happy birthday Teddy bear. (sic)"
