Alex Jones announced as first BBC Children In Need 2026 host
The One Show star Alex Jones is the first presenter confirmed for this year's BBC Children In Need Appeal Show.
Alex Jones has joined the BBC Children In Need presenting lineup for 2026.
The 49-year-old star and The One Show host, who has been a long-standing supporter of the charity, is "delighted" to get involved during the Appeal Show, which is set to air on November 13 via both BBC One and iPlayer.
She said in a statement: "I’m absolutely delighted to be joining this year’s BBC Children in Need presenting team.
"Every year, the Appeal shines a light on the incredible projects and people making a real difference to children and young people across the UK."
"It’s something that we champion through the Challenge Squad on The One Show, and it’s a privilege to help tell those stories."
Alex noted that the causes funded by Children In Need are more vital than ever.
She added: "At a time when so many young people are facing challenges, the support funded by BBC Children in Need has never been more important.
"I can’t wait to be part of the show on 13 November and to see the nation come together once again to help ensure every child has someone by their side when they need it most.”
Alex is the first presenter unveiled for this year's presenting team.
The BBC has promised more announcements in the lead-up to the fundraising show later this year.
Confirmation Alex has joined the team comes after BBC Children In Need's 2026 fundraising launch, which featured a call for everyone across the UK to Challenge Yourself to make a different.
Alex joined the likes of Jordan Banjo, Angela Scanlon, Mel Giedroyc, Joe Wicks and Emma Bunton for the campaign, which highlighted the importance of community support and trusted relationships for children and young people.
The charity has warned that more young people are needing to use its services, due to a combination of inequality, rising poverty and poor mental health.
As well as Alex's role, the BBC has also announced that Spice Girls legend Emma Bunton has designed this year's official Children In Need t-shirt, which will be sold exclusively through George at Asda.
The Children In Need Appeal Show will air live from Salford on November 13 on BBC One and iPlayer.
