The One Show has launched The Challenge Squad fundraiser for BBC Children in Need.

The first challenge will see 16-year-old Zoe from Hampshire - who was born with Down syndrome and has overcome significant challenges since birth - dance with the cast of Disney’s High School Musical on BBC One on Friday, November 13.

Zoe is one of four inspirational young people who will be tackling personal challenges in support of BBC Children in Need.

Alex Jones, who co-hosts The One Show, said: "I’m absolutely delighted that the Challenge Squad is returning.

"Every year I’m blown away by the resilience and determination shown by these incredible young people. They’re taking on challenges that will really test them, all while representing projects that have made a difference in their lives and the lives of other children and young people across the UK.

"It’s a privilege to support them and I know viewers will be cheering them on along the way."

Roman Kemp, Alex's co-host, is also looking forward to The Challenge Squad.

He said: "The One Show’s Challenge Squad shows just how amazing young people can be.

"Each member of the squad has a powerful story to tell, and the commitment they’re showing as they prepare for these challenges is incredible.

"I hope their journeys encourage people across the UK to get behind them and see the difference that support can make."

Joanne Vaughan-Jones, the editor of The One Show, is thrilled to welcome back The Challenge Squad and introduce viewers to "another fantastic group of young people".

She added: "Over the coming weeks, we'll follow their journeys as they take on some incredible challenges and share the stories behind them, while shining a light on BBC Children in Need-funded projects and the impact they have on young lives. Their determination, resilience and infectious energy shine through, and we hope audiences will be cheering them on every step of the way."
