'I'd catch the plane today': Sherrie Hewson hopes ITV brings back Benidorm
Sherrie Hewson has called for ITV to revive the comedy series Benidorm so she can play Solana hotel manageress Joyce Temple-Savage once again.

Sherrie Hewson is "hoping desperately" for a Benidorm return.
The 75-year-old actress played Solana hotel manageress Joyce Temple-Savage on the ITV comedy from 2012 until its axing in 2018 and is hoping that talk of a revival of the Spanish-set sitcom comes to fruition.
Sherrie is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "We are all campaigning for it to come back.
"We are hoping desperately that it comes back and we'd love it because we'd get to go back to Benidorm.
"I love the character Joyce Temple-Savage. Derren Litten wrote that and I thought it was one of the best characters I've ever played."
The former Hollyoaks star added: "I would love it to come back. We'll see, watch this space.
"There isn't a comedy on ITV at the moment so it needs it to come back.
"I'm waiting to hear and I'd catch the plane today."
Sherrie has regularly called for Benidorm to return to screens and suggested earlier this year that it would be "wonderful" if the sitcom were to come back.
The former Loose Women panellist told Best's Suddenly Single podcast: "There's this thing of, 'Is it coming back?', and I keep that alive. It is now a possibility and that would be wonderful because we all miss it desperately."
Meanwhile, the show's creator Litten revealed in April that he was in discussions with ITV about a potential new series.
The comedy writer said: "If I say ITV have not commissioned a new Benidorm series, it is because ITV have not commissioned a new Benidorm series, up to today. Does it mean they might commission a new series in the near future? Possibly.
"Have I been talking to ITV in the last few months? Yes I have.
"Have ITV commissioned a special or a series at the moment? No. Might they in the next few weeks, couple of months? Yeah they might. They might.
"So I hope that gives you some hope, and I hope that gives you some idea of where we are."
Addressing Sherrie's comments about a return, Derren added: "Sherrie does this rumour every couple of years, and Sherrie says that the show is coming back, and she is not s*** stirring, she is hopeful because she loves the show as much as I do."
