'I nearly passed out...' Sherrie Hewson reveals bizarre food fear
Sherrie Hewson cannot be in the same room as this food, and she has "nearly passed out" after being near them.
Sherrie Hewson is petrified of walnuts.
The 75-year-old actress has almost "passed out" from being near them.
Asked if there is any food she refuses to eat, Sherrie revealed in the new issue of Bella magazine: "Walnuts. I have a severe phobia. I can't even be in the same room as them.
"Kaye Adams once put one on the Loose Women desk, and I nearly passed out.
"I also won't touch scallops or anything slimy."
Meanwhile, Sherrie recalled the time she obliviously munched on bull testicles instead of meatballs during a getaway to Cyprus.
Quizzed on the strangest thing she had ever eaten, the Benidorm legend remembered: "Years ago in Cyprus, I was served meatballs, which turned out to be bull testicles, a local delicacy.
"I fled to the bathroom and was sick. Everyone else was tucking in like it was normal. I still think about it with horror."
Elsewhere, Sherrie previously revealed that she vomited over late actor Steve McQueen - who died aged 50 in November 1980 - after a dinner date with him at a Chinese restaurant.
In March 2025, Sherrie - who was an 18-year-old drama student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and was picked by the staff to go on a red bus with the film star in 1970 - told Best magazine: "His people wanted to say thank you, so they took me to a restaurant in Chelsea.
"However, the menu was in French, and I'm allergic to fish.
"Unknown to me, I was eating clam chowder, and after a few mouthfuls, I projectile vomited over him.
"He was wearing a white polo-neck sweater, which he always wore, and his people rushed in and dragged me out of the restaurant and onto the pavement.
"Steve came out, and I vomited all over his shoes and trousers. They threw me into a black cab and yelled, 'Get her out of here.'
"As I drove off, I could see Steve McQueen from the window, covered in sick, and I thought, 'He'll never marry me now...'"
On January 5, Sherrie pulled out of an appearance on Vanessa Feltz's eponymous Channel 5 show that day after being struck down by a winter sickness virus.
Sherrie was due to be a guest on the daytime chat show to discuss her new podcast, Very Very Sherrie, as well as her career and more.
However, the star was hit with the illness in the morning, and despite making a valiant attempt to travel, Sherrie became too unwell and was forced to turn back before even reaching the station.
A source told BANG Showbiz at the time: "Sherrie was absolutely gutted to let the show down and is now focusing on her recovery. Sherrie will be tucked up in bed and getting lots of rest to beat the bug.
"She hopes she’ll be asked back on by Vanessa once she’s back to full health."
