Michael Myers’ House - Halloween (1978)
One of horror cinema’s most famous houses stands at 1000 Mission Street in South Pasadena, although that is not where John Carpenter originally filmed it.
In 1978’s Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence and Nick Castle, the dilapidated property was used as Michael Myers’ childhood home and appears in the chilling opening sequence depicting the murder of his sister Judith.
The house originally stood on Meridian Avenue before being moved to Mission Street in 1987 to save it from demolition.
South Pasadena doubled extensively for fictional Haddonfield, meaning fans can also find Laurie Strode’s house and the famous hedge nearby.
