Box office success

When it hit cinemas in September 1995, Se7en proved to be a major box office success.

The movie made $327.3 million worldwide against $30 million production budget - which made Se7en the 12th highest-grossing film of the year, trailing only behind the likes of Toy Story, Batman Forever and James Bond movie Goldeneye.

Se7en also received some recognition at the 68th Academy Awards and was put forward for Best Film Editing, though lost out on the honour to Apollo 13.
