Piranha
Joe Dante’s 1978 film Piranha is considered a cult classic.
It is one of many low budget B-movies that came out in the wake of the success of Jaws about a sea-dwelling danger.
The filmmaker admitted to Sci-Fi Now that Jaws inspired his choice of killer fish.
He said: “[With Piranha] we decided to do the exact opposite. Instead of something giant, this was very tiny fish so that we wouldn’t be accused of copying Jaws."
