Amy Schumer – Barbie

Long before Margot Robbie starred as Barbie, Amy Schumer was in serious contention to play the iconic doll.

The actress was initially cast as Barbie in a 2016 Sony Pictures project, co-writing and starring in a satirical take on the doll.

She departed the project in 2017, citing creative differences.

Schumer later commented: “They definitely didn’t want to do it the way I wanted to do it.”

The part eventually went to Robbie, who starred as the doll opposite Ryan Gosling’s Ken in director Greta Gerwig’s 2023 blockbuster Barbie.
