Val Kilmer returns

Despite battling throat cancer, the late Val Kilmer reprised his role as Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky for an emotional scene with his old Top Gun pal Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell (Tom Cruise) in the action blockbuster.

Kilmer’s voice was recreated with AI and input from Kilmer himself.

Cruise reflected: “I just want to say that was pretty emotional. I've known Val for decades.”

Kilmer sadly passed away on April 1, 2025 due to complications with pneumonia.
