Sound effects
With no one knowing what dinosaurs actually sounded like, sound designer Gary Rydstrom had the freedom to get creative while crafting the creatures' roars for Jurassic Park.
He gave each dinosaur a unique voice, blending various animal sounds to achieve the desired effect - like swan hisses and baby elephant trumpets.
Some choices were more unexpected: the high-pitched squeaks of the Gallimimus were taken from a female horse excited by a nearby stallion, while the iconic bark of the Velociraptor came from the mating sounds of two tortoises.
