Fact vs fiction
Steven Spielberg was committed to making the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park as scientifically accurate as possible, and so enlisted renowned palaeontologist Jack Horner to advise on their behaviour and design.
However, Spielberg wasn’t afraid to take creative liberties for cinematic effect.
One notable example came after he received a photo of a real Tyrannosaurus rex tooth - thick and banana-shaped.
Wanting the predator to appear more menacing on screen, he decided to sharpen the T. rex’s teeth for a more intimidating look.
