After becoming infatuated with war films at an early age, Morgan Freeman soon joined the Air Force in 1955.

The Oscar-winning actor served as a radar technician for four years, though eventually found the military life wasn’t for him.

Even so, Freeman would return to the military in the 1989 Civil War movie ‘Glory’.
