‘Get Shorty’ is perhaps one of Hackman’s most underrated movies.

Also starring John Travolta, Danny DeVito and Rene Russo, the 1995 movie tells the tale of mobster Chili Palmer who visits LA to collect a debt, but soon realises his criminal business and the Hollywood movie industry aren’t so different.

Hackman played Hollywood producer Harry Zimm, who specialises in cheesy horror flicks and agrees to make a film based on Palmer’s life story.
