Winning the part

After Mike Giannelli retired from acting, Damien Leone suddenly found himself needing someone else to take on the mantle and play Art the Clown for ‘Terrifier’.

While he was up against stiff competition, David Howard Thornton was able to separate himself from the pack in his audition by adding in a truly sadistic characteristic into his performance.

During the audition, the actor began to mime tasting his beheaded victim’s blood, only to add salt to make it more flavoursome.

Leone was so impressed that Thornton was given the role on the spot.
