Tom Hanks
'Cast Away' may be a great watch, but making it was no fun for Tom Hanks.
The actor – who plays a man who finds himself alone on a deserted island – admitted he went "nuts" by the end of filming after he began shooting scenes with Wilson the volleyball.
Tom had to film scene after scene speaking to the inanimate object, which the movie star revealed took a toll on his mental health.
He recounted: "When Wilson was born, I had dialogue with him, and I heard his dialogue in my head. I did go crazy because I never had a day off. I never had a shot off; I was never off camera for anything. It was...the whole movie was like, point and shoot. I don't even recall hearing 'Action' and 'Cut.'"
On top of the mental toll, the actor was hospitalised after he found an infection from a cut was "eating its way through [his] leg".
He later said: "I went to the doctor who took one look and said, 'I have to put you in the hospital because we have to get this infection out of you before it poisons your blood and you die.'"
