The fight for Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston became one of the biggest stars in the world because of ‘Friends’, with women all over the world flocking to salons and demanding the “Rachel” haircut.

But just before hitting the big time as runaway bride Rachel Green, she had a role in ‘Muddling Through’.

As the first choice for the role of Rachel, NBC bosses decided to tank ‘Muddling Through’ by airing movies during the same time slot in the hope that their ratings would fall.

It worked and ‘Muddling Through’ was canceled, leaving Jennifer free to become Rachel.
