What's with the picture frame?

The iconic set of ‘Friends’ would look incomplete without Monica’s strikingly odd purple door with the golden frame.

The image has gone on to adorn countless pieces of merchandise from sofa cushions to mobile phone cases and everything in between, but the quirky bit of scenery happened completely by accident.

The frame was originally a mirror but when a crew member smashed it by mistake, they thought the odd-looking empty frame looked good, so it was kept.
