Miley Cyrus

A course on the sociology of the 'Flowers' hitmaker was offered to university students in New York back in 2014 – shortly after Miley had caused a storm with her twerking performances.

Assistant professor Carolyn Chernoff said: "Miley Cyrus is a surprisingly complicated cultural moment. I created (the course) as a creative and rigorous way of looking at what's relevant about sociology and sociology theory."
