Intense training

In order to become the Los Angeles detectives, Mel Gibson and Roger Murtaugh underwent vigorous training.

With the help of stunt coordinator Bobby Bass - who was an ex-Special Forces instructor - the pair trained with weights and became accustomed to an assortment of firearms.

The actors also learned three martial arts techniques, those being Capoeira, Jailhouse Rock and Jiu-Jitsu.
