Glory at the box office

As its theatrical run came to a close, ‘Lethal Weapon’s box office earnings exceeded Warner Bros.’ expectations.

On a budget of $15 million, the flick grossed over $120 million.

As well as bringing home the big bucks, the picture went on to be nominated for the Best Sound Academy Award.

After its amazing theatrical performance, Warner Bros. didn’t hesitate to get a sequel in the works as soon as possible, and released ‘Lethal Weapon 2’ just two years after the first.
