Alternate cuts

Originally, the beginning and ending of ‘Lethal Weapon’ were significantly different.

The movie initially opened with Martin Riggs making “mincemeat” of a group of dock workers who were abusing a dog - though this sequence was later replaced with the scene where the detective can be seen walking around his beach trailer in his birthday suit.

As for the ending, the movie was going to finish with Martin pleading with his partner not to quit the force despite his age - the character was meant to be 50 years old - though the sequence was changed for the theatrical cut.

In the version of the flick that released to cinemas, Martin shows up at Roger’s house to join him for a Christmas dinner.
