Rampant homophobia

Homophobia is ever-present in the 1978 flick, too!

Eugene is harassed by the T-Birds for potentially being gay, and is always tossed aside as soon as an opportunity presents itself to his peers.

Then, at the high school dance, radio DJ Vince Fontaine makes it clear that same-sex couples are strictly prohibited.

While this is arguably historically-accurate, as the film is set in 1958 – 45 years before homosexuality was decrimalised in the US – it's still not very inclusive, or nice to watch.
