Origins
Before Michael Crichton’s novel ‘Jurassic Park’ was even out, director Steven Spielberg knew the story would make for a thrilling cinematic spectacle, and begged Universal to purchase the rights to the intellectual property.
The studio agreed, but on one condition: Steven had to make the picture before his passion-project ‘Schindler’s List’.
The director agreed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
