Sarah Hyland’s health battle

As a child, Sarah Hyland was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia and required a transplant later in life.

She received a kidney donation in 2012 from her father Edward, though sadly had to get it removed after her body rejected it after a few years.

All of this was going on at the same time as Sarah was filming for ‘Modern Family’, which left her exhausted.

In fact, the actress became so tired, that she admitted she can’t remember filming some of the episodes at all.
