A united family

Not only was the family modern, it was also united!

After the first season received critical acclaim, none of the cast chose to submit their names for the Best Lead Actor and Actress categories at the Emmys, and instead they all opted for the supporting categories instead.

Later, the cast came together to renegotiate their salaries, and boycotted table reads.

Whilst Ed O’Neill - who played Jay Pritchett - wasn’t directly involved in the ordeal, he stood in solidarity with his fellow cast members until their demands were met.
