Originally, ‘Roseanne’ was called ‘Life and Stuff’, because the creator Matt Williams believed it would capture the ensemble-centric nature of the programme best.

However, Roseanne Barr was unhappy with the title, and said that the show should instead be named after her, arguing that the programme mostly centred around her and was based on her life.
