Meeting Terri

Steve met his wife Terri at the Australia Zoo.

In 1991, Terri - who was born in Oregon - travelled to Australia to visit the renowned zoo, and fell head-over-heels for the animal lover as soon as she met him.

Recalling how she felt upon their introduction to one another, Terri said: “I was absolutely floored, that was it. This man was a real-life hero. I fell then and there, love at first sight, not a problem. I said to my friend, ‘I got to meet this guy.’”

The pair married a few months later.
