Steve’s love for animals came from his parents.

In 1970, his family moved to Beerwah, Australia, to open the Beerwah Reptile Park, where a young Steve spent his days helping out, and became an expert at handling and feeding the animals.

Eventually, the nature lover became the owner of the facility, which is still running today and is now known as the Australia Zoo
