Thomas Magnum's return from the grave

Before the series could get too long in the tooth, writers and producers agreed that Season 7 needed to be the definitive ending for 'Magnum P.I.'.

So, in the episode 'Limbo', Magnum is left in a critical condition after being involved in a warehouse shootout. The instalment then takes a bit of a strange turn, as the private detective visits loved ones in a realm between life and death, before ascending to heaven after making peace with everyone.

However, viewers were not happy at the end of Magnum and so the producers made an eighth season with Magnum returning from the afterlife for 13 more episodes.
