In 2018, 'Magnum P.I.' was rebooted by NBC.

Starring Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, Perdita Weeks as Juliet Higgins and Zachary Knighton as Rick Wright, the show received fairly positive reviews, and ran for five seasons.

However, as of January 2024, the show has come to an end, with there being no current plans for a sixth season.

Looking back at the show, Jay thanked the fans for watching, and revealed that he had even pitched a movie that was ultimately declined.

Taking to social media, he posted: "I actually floated the idea of a standalone film. I suppose it's still possible. If I'm being totally honest, I didn't love the show ending how it did. That being said, to all the #magnum #ohana thank you for always supporting us! Y'all have been AMAZING. We're humbled by your dedication."
