'The Simpsons' story starts in 1987, after the yellow family appeared on 'The Ullman Show'.

Creator Matt Groening had passed on an offer to turn his comic strip, 'Life in Hell', into animated shorts, and didn’t want to miss on another opportunity.

Two years later, 'The Simpsons' debuted, and has been a TV staple ever since.
