Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix brought to life the DC Comics villain in Todd Phillips' 2019 origin film ‘Joker’.

Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of the movie, Phoenix described his portrayal of Arthur Fleck as one of the most creatively fulfilling roles of his entire career.

He said: “I mean honestly, it wasn’t an easy decision at first. I didn’t know. I didn’t. But then, there was something that was drawing me toward it. It just evolved as we worked together. It started becoming something more than I anticipated. It was one of the greatest experiences of my career.”
