Radiohead and The Talking Heads
The band fronted by 55-year-old Thom Yorke and known for songs like ‘Videotape’ and ‘Life in a Glasshouse,’ was named after the 1986 song ‘Radio Head’ by The Talking Heads.
In 2019, it was precisely the latter’s frontman, 71-year-old David Byrne, who inducted Radiohead into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. During his speech, Byrne admitted to being “surprised and flattered,” that the band took their name from one of his tracks.
He added: “But [I] had to ask myself: ‘Why that song? That slightly goofy Tex-Mex song? Why that one?’ We’ll never know.”
