The Rolling Stones and Muddy Waters
The Rolling Stones have been rocking for seven decades, and the rock legends got their name from a song titled ‘Rollin’ Stone’ by blues icon Muddy Waters (1913-1983), as the latter’s music, particularly his album ‘The Best of Muddy Waters’, was what made the Stones’ frontman Sir Mick Jagger, 80, and guitarist Keith Richards, 80, become friends. In an appearance in the documentary ‘Under the Influence,’ Richards recalled: “I thought I was the only guy in the Southeast of England that knew anything about this stuff."
To which Jagger added: “We started to go to each other’s house and play these records.”
