He failed music at school
Music was the only thing Elvis failed in school but he didn't let that stop him. Shortly after graduation, he checked in to Memphis Recording Service, the company run by Sam Phillips. A short time later, he found himself teaming up with guitarist Winfield ‘Scotty’ Moore and upright bass player Bill Black for a recording session. Moore recalled: ""All of a sudden, Elvis just started singing this song, jumping around and acting the fool, and then Bill picked up his bass, and he started acting the fool, too, and I started playing with them."
