Elvis returns to music
Elvis returned to US soil on March 2, 1960, and was honorably discharged three days later. Just over two weeks later, he was back in the recording studio cutting tracks for a new album and that May his manager Colonel Tom Parker secured an unheard-of $125,000 for eight minutes of singing on ' The Frank Sinatra Timex Special'. Around this time, Elvis had begun to make more and more movies, with his starring role in 'G.I. Blues ' hitting cinemas shortly after his return.
