A second Oscar!
In 1982, Meryl used a Polish accent to take on one of the roles of her career in 'Sophie's Choice'.
In the movie, Streep plays Polish mother Sophie Zawistowski who when taken to a Nazi concentration camp is forced by a German officer to decide whether her son or daughter will be killed.
In her acceptance speech, she said: "Oh boy! No matter how much you try to imagine what this is like, it is just so incredibly thrilling like down to your toes!"
