Jade Thirlwall admits cancel culture is 'scary'
Former Little Mix star Jade Thirwall has admitted that she is "scared" of cancel culture.

The 32-year-old pop star insisted that these days it is not possible to be in the public eye in her position and not speak out on certain political situations, but she knows that she won't always "get it right" and there will be "consequences" to that.
She said: "Cancel culture is thriving now. When you’re in the public eye, it’s quite scary. I’ve always been quite vocal, and I’m not always going to get it right. "But you can’t be a pop artist right now without speaking out about certain things.
" I have been warned there could be consequences for speaking out about things like Palestine, but these are basic human rights. We’re seeing an attack on the trans community, and I have a very big LGBTQ+ fanbase, I can’t sit back and not be vocal about defending that community. I’m happy to pay the consequences if it means doing the right thing."
The 'It Girl' hitmaker - who shot to fame as part of Little Mix alongside Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson - added that she has a voice in her head which she likened to a homosexual man whom she regards as a guide in life.
She said: "I definitely have an inner voice, which I feel like is a gay man telling me how to navigate life and if I look good. Little Jade is in there too and is guiding me. If I’m anxious or overthinking things, I imagine how she’d feel about where I am now."
