Charlotte Crosby "would love to try again for another baby" following her heartbreaking silent miscarriage.

The Geordie Shore alum discovered she was pregnant with her and fiance Jake Ankers' third child on March 3, but a fortnight after a sonographer failed to find the embryo during the six-week scan, their doctor diagnosed her with a "silent miscarriage".

A missed - or silent - miscarriage is "where the baby has died or not developed, but has not been physically miscarried", according to The Miscarriage Association.

Charlotte, who has daughters Alba, three, and Pixi, 15 months, with Jake, both 36, broke down in tears as she discussed her heartbreak on Tuesday's (19.05.26) This Morning.

Speaking to the ITV magazine show's hosts, Cat Deeley, 49, and Ben Shephard, 51, Charlotte recalled how she and Jake "weren't trying" but it "just happened" they got pregnant, and that the TV personality was "very scared" after she "saw the positive sign".

She continued: "But all the worries melted away, and we started to get really, really excited, and we were like, 'We'll manage, it's going to be another beautiful person to love, and it's going to be amazing.'"

Charlotte noted that the pregnancy "felt completely normal", having experienced "some morning sickness and all of the hormones", which caused zero expectation that something could go wrong.

But she and Jake knew something was up when there was a "moment of silence" during their six-week private scan appointment.

Charlotte explained: "I went for my first scan at six weeks, and basically it was just a different atmosphere. I've obviously been through this twice before, with two successful pregnancies, so you kind of know what to expect once you sit down.

"But it was completely different. They didn't switch the screens on for you to see straight away, and the room was very quiet, and I just instantly thought, 'Oh, I feel like there's something wrong.' There's just been a lot of silence for a little bit too long.

"What they said was that they weren't seeing what they were meant to be seeing on the screen, and they reassured me that it is quite common; I could have come a bit too early and got my dates mixed up.

"And it could be the case of over 48 hours, it would all change. But they couldn't scan me for another two weeks, so I had to go back in two weeks and just hope for the best."

The brunette beauty described the agonising wait as "the longest two weeks", which "felt like it was going in slow motion" and "just dragging".

And although Jake remained "really positive" that everything was "going to be fine", Charlotte had an inkling that there was "going to be something wrong here".

A fortnight later, at the eight-week scan, Charlotte's doctor confirmed the couple's worst nightmare, that she had "silently miscarried".

The Celebrity Big Brother 2013 winner wept as she explained having to wait a further two weeks to see if she would miscarry "naturally" before she had the D+C (dilation and curettage) operation.

Charlotte said the two-week window was "the worst fear".

She added: "I would go to bed and think, 'What if it's going to happen? I've never had a miscarriage.'

"I would go to bed thinking it might happen through the night, and I was worried about the pain as I've obviously got two young children, so I felt like I was going to bed and waking up every morning just quite scared and worried about what it's going to feel like and how will I cope?

"My partner has quite a busy job; he's away a lot, so I just didn't want it to happen when I was on my own. But it didn't happen, and I did have to go for the operation."

Charlotte said Jake was "really sad for a long time and would just cry quite a lot", and the star says there "needs to be more support for men through that".

Following the heartbreaking silent miscarriage - which Charlotte had not heard of before - she has hopes of falling pregnant again.

The Charlotte Show presenter said: "I feel I'm in a better position now, I've got my family, I would love to try again for another baby. After finding out I was pregnant, I got really excited, and I think it is something that I'd definitely like."
