Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend Jim Curtis reveals his ‘real joy’ over relationship
Jim Curtis has opened up about how a months-long friendship with the Friends star developed into a romance as he adjusts to a new level of public attention.
Jim Curtis has opened up about finding “real joy” with Jennifer Aniston – saying their romance grew naturally from a friendship lasting several months.
The 50-year-old hypnotherapist, life coach and wellness author has been dating the 57-year-old Friends star since 2025, with their relationship becoming increasingly public over the past year.
Jim discussed their life together in an interview with The Times, days after Jennifer joined him in New York to promote his new book, The Book of Possibility: Release. Align. Become.
He said: “There was a many-month friendship first. The drive was more natural, more organic, less needy. In the past I’ve felt this idea of, ‘I need you to be in love with me…’. I wasn’t searching for love any more. And what do I feel now? I feel real joy, real presence, real calmness, real partnership.”
Jim and Jennifer were first publicly linked in summer 2025 after being spotted together on a yacht during a trip to Mallorca.
Their friendship had developed earlier, with Jennifer following Jim on Instagram and sharing his 2024 self-help book Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide on her account in May 2025.
Jennifer later made their relationship Instagram official, sharing a photograph of the pair together in November 2025. The couple have subsequently appeared together in social media posts and attended events supporting each other’s work.
Earlier this month, Jennifer joined Jim at New York’s 92NY for an event surrounding The Book of Possibility, which was released by Simon and Schuster on 8 September.
Jennifer interviewed Jim on stage during the event at the Kaufmann Concert Hall.
Jim also told The Times meditation has become part of their life together.
He said: “We take real responsibility to go within and understand and soothe ourselves. So we meditate together. I meditate and I’ll say things like ‘I’m divinely guided’, meaning I don’t have to worry, it’s all working out.”
His relationship with one of Hollywood’s most recognisable actors has also brought a new level of attention.
Speaking on The Jamie Kern Lima Show this month, Jim said seeing his name appearing regularly in headlines “was new”.
He added: “And, you know, just to be quite honest, that was something to get used to. I’ve been pretty public for a long time, but never this level.”
Jim also said: “No one’s really cared who I’ve dated in the past, so that was an adjustment for me, but it was a real learning experience, too.”
Jennifer remains best known internationally for playing Rachel Green in Friends, the sitcom which ran for 10 seasons and made its six principal cast members global stars.
She recently reunited socially with former co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow during a dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
Jim joined Jennifer for the August outing, alongside Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.
Jennifer has since built an extensive film career including Marley and Me, The Break-Up, Horrible Bosses and We’re the Millers, while her most prominent current television role is news anchor Alex Levy in Apple TV’s The Morning Show.
The drama, which Jennifer stars in and executive produces alongside Reese Witherspoon, 50, is now heading towards its conclusion. Apple announced in July that its fifth season will be its last and will premiere in 2027.
Jennifer and Jim have continued to be seen together while their respective professional projects move forward.
They marked approximately a year together earlier this year and were photographed holidaying in Mallorca again in August.
Jim’s latest book draws on his experiences with health problems and his work as a transformational coach, exploring what he describes as limiting beliefs and subconscious patterns.
