Rivals' Emily Atack reveals if a second child is on the cards
Rivals star Emily Atack has shared if she will have a second child with her fiance, Alistair Garner
Emily Atack has "no plans" to have a second child right now.
The Rivals actress and her 39-year-old fiance, Alistair Garner, welcomed Barney into the world in June 2024, and they are happy as a family of three.
Emily, 36, told the new issue of HELLO! magazine: "I'm so obsessed with Barney, I cannot imagine being obsessed with another baby at this stage. We don't have any plans to have more, but who knows?
"I love babies, but I'm focusing on my little Barney for now because he's a handful, and he's keeping me on my toes."
The Inbetweeners alum returned to work 11 weeks after she gave birth to Barney, and her body was "still in pieces", and she could "barely walk".
And Emily is thankful for Alistair's support, saying: "He's so amazing with Barney. There's no element of one of us doing too much.
"We're both knackered, but we both really help each other. It's definitely a very equal thing."
The couple also gets help from Emily's "amazing" mum, Spitting Image entertainer Kate Robbins, 67, whom Barney is "obsessed with".
Emily recently admitted that motherhood can be "lonely".
She told Closer magazine: "Becoming a mum can be quite a lonely thing. I didn't go to all the mum and baby groups, as I'm quite shy. People don't believe me, and they laugh at me when I say that."
In June 2025, Emily took to Instagram to pay a sweet tribute to Barney on his first birthday.
The Celebrity Juice panellist shared adorable shots that highlighted the tot's first year - including from when the star gave birth to him, and pictures of him, Emily, and Alistair enjoying family life.
She captioned the post: "Happy 1st birthday to our son Barney James Garner. The Baby Barn Owl.
"I’ve dreamt of you my whole life. It was always you. I love you beyond words, our beautiful, BEAUTIFUL boy. You are so cherished my heart could burst."
Emily also posted a sweet photo of Barney resting on Alistair's chest on her Instagram Stories.
She captioned the upload: "One whole year of our baby Barnicle.
"These beginning sleepy, dazed and disoriented days that merged into one still feel like yesterday."
