Neighbours star in 'done deal' for Strictly Come Dancing
BBC bosses have been trying to sign this Neighbours star "for years".
Former Neighbours star Delta Goodrem has reportedly been snapped up for Strictly Come Dancing 2026.
It has been claimed that bosses have eyed the 41-year-old TV personality - who played shy schoolgirl and budding singer Nina Tucker in the Australian soap - for a while to compete for the Glitterball Trophy on the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance show.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper's Eden Confidential column: "It is all but a done deal.
"They've been trying to get her for years. Obviously, she is a good name for the show."
Delta - who dated pop stars Nick Jonas, 33, and 45-year-old Brian McFadden - supposedly appearing on Strictly Come Dancing would come a year after 67-year-old Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis’ (Paul Robinson’s) journey on the show was cut short after he ripped his calf muscle by doing the Charleston with his 36-year-old professional dance partner Dianne Buswell.
Singer Delta - who is set to represent Australia at next month's Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria, with her ballad, Eclipse - could be on the programme with This Morning star Josie Gibson, who is said to be in advanced talks with bosses about taking part in September.
It comes after the 2010 Big Brother champion almost signed up for Strictly Come Dancing in 2023 but opted to take part in ITV's I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! instead that year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Josie has been on the BBC’s radar for a while and they’ve not given up their pursuit.
"They’re hoping this year is the year, and talks are progressing well.
"Bosses are convinced her down-to-earth charm will be the boost this year’s new-look show needs.
"Warm and engaging, she’s just what they require right now and will be a sure-fire hit with fans."
BBC executives regard Josie, 41, as an ideal addition to Strictly Come Dancing - which is having a big shake-up for 2026 as it hunts for new co-hosts, following the departure of Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, at the end of the 2025 series in December.
Zoe Ball, 55, Emma Willis, 50, Miranda Hart, 53, Rylan Clark, 37, Bradley Walsh, 65, and Roman Kemp, 33, are among the many names tipped for the big job.
The axe has also been swung on several professional dancers - Karen Hauer, 43, Gorka Marquez, 35, Nadiya Bychkova and Luba Mushtuk, both 36, and 30-year-old Michelle Tsiakkas - as part of the Saturday night staple's refresh.
