Lorraine Kelly and husband Steve Smith to never renew wedding vows
Lorraine Kelly and her husband Steve Smith mark their 35th wedding anniversary in 2027, but they would rather have a party than renew their wedding vows.
Lorraine Kelly and her husband Steve Smith would never renew their wedding vows.
The couple - who mark their 35th wedding anniversary in 2027 - feel they do not need to reaffirm their love for each other because their relationship is so strong.
Lorraine - who met Steve when she worked as a reporter and he was a cameraman at TV-am in the 1980s - told the new issue of Woman magazine: "That's not really us. I'd rather just have a party without that."
The TV presenter joked that she and her spouse sleeping together in a tent in Africa on holiday proves that their marriage is still alive.
Lorraine - who wed Steve at Mains Castle in Dundee, Scotland, in September 1992 - quipped: "Steve and I survive a couple of weeks sleeping next to each other in the bush, sleeping next to each other in a tent on a roof [of a Jeep].
"If we can survive that, I think we're doing alright!"
The star - who has daughter Rosie, 31, with Steve - credits her husband for allowing her to still work.
Lorraine said: "He's great and so easy-going. He does such a lot for me. I'm only able to do what I do because he takes care of everything."
The new year started with a change for the host now that her eponymous ITV morning magazine show has been reduced to 30-minute episodes and airs on a 30-week "seasonal basis" amid the network's brutal budget cuts.
Despite that, Lorraine has "so much to look forward to" in 2026 - especially in the summer when Rosie marries Steve White in July.
Lorraine said: "It's going to be really lovely. It's going to be up in Scotland with friends and family, very low-key."
And Rosie and her fiance - who, in 2024, got engaged and welcomed their daughter Billie into the world - have got everything planned out.
Lorraine continued: "Rosie's got spreadsheets and is so organised. I said, 'Do you need me to help you with the wedding?' She said, 'It's done - all you've got to do is get yourself something to wear.'"
The new year has also seen Lorraine front Channel 4's Norwegian Odyssey - a three-part travel series that sees Lorraine embark on a voyage through the country's fjords and volcanic mountains, as well as embrace the culture.
