Christine Lampard sent her condolences to Lorraine Kelly as she missed her self-titled ITV show following her father's death over the weekend.

The 46-year-old presenter hosted Lorraine in her place on Monday (12.01.26) and sent her thoughts to the Scottish broadcaster – who revealed that her 84-year-old father John Kelly had passed away after being found injured on an outdoor path in his hometown of East Kilbride.

As she opened the show, Christine said: "Lorraine is spending some time with her family in Scotland, but we are all thinking of you Lorraine, and we will see you here very soon."

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid also sent "enormous amounts of love" to Lorraine as she handed over to Christine for a preview of the daytime programme.

She said: "Christine is here in the studio for Lorraine after 9:30 am, Christine good morning to you, and we want to send our condolences to Lorraine. Tragically, she lost her father in the last couple of days, and we just send enormous amounts of love. I know it came as a shock, and Lorraine, lots and lots of love to you."

Lorraine announced the tragic news of her father's passing on Instagram and admits that his death had come as a "shock", even though he had been in "poor health".

The 66-year-old star wrote on the social media site: "My dad has died. I am mourning the man who bought me a telescope when I was five years old, who watched the moon landings with me and taught me to always be curious and interested in everything."

Lorraine continued: "He was in poor health but it has still been a shock. Any of you who have experienced a similar loss will know how my brother Graham and I are feeling.

"Our priority is taking care of my mum and the family would very much appreciate privacy at this distressing time."

The broadcaster's celebrity pals expressed their condolences in the comments, with singer Craig David writing: "Sending my love to you and the family Lorraine. He was always your angel and will continue to be that for you watching from heaven."

This Morning presenter Ben Shephard wrote: "So so sorry to hear this Lorraine send love and hugs to all the family."
