Christine Lampard has quit Lorraine after eight years amid ITV's imminent brutal budget cuts.

The 46-year-old presenter will no longer need to step in for its main host, Lorraine Kelly, 66, because the latter will now host her eponymous morning magazine show for five days a week, as it is being trimmed down to 30 minutes and will only air for 30 weeks a year from January 2026.

Christine - who, with deputy host Ranvir Singh, 48, covered for Lorraine every Friday, as well as during the school holidays - took to Instagram on Sunday (28.12.25) to confirm her departure.

The star - who joined the programme in 2017 - penned: "After many years of being part of the @lorraine family, it is now coming to an end.

"We’ve laughed, lunched and learnt so much from one another. Colleagues who have become the best of friends. As many of the team enter a new world in 2026, I want to thank every single person. I love you all! It has been the best of times. (sic)"

Christine's exit announcement was met with heaps of sadness amongst her followers in the post's comments section.

One person wrote: "I am so lucky to have met you and spent some fun times with you.

"It is you who made our mornings so special simply by just being you and we love you for that. Thanks for making my own memories so special, you are truly the best and I will miss you loads. (sic)"

A second supporter typed: "Always love it when your on Lorraine. All the best in your next chapter (sic)."

And a third fan left: "Nooooo, you need to take over that show x. (sic)"

From January, Loose Women, which Christine also fronts, will air for 30 weeks instead of 52, and ITV's breakfast news programme Good Morning Britain, which Ranvir anchors, will take the 9-10am slot for 22 weeks of the year.

But amid the cutbacks causing job losses in excess of 220, a source told the Daily Mail that "Christine and Ranvir remain part of the ITV daytime family".

ITV's flagship daytime show This Morning, whose presenters include Ben Shephard, 51, Cat Deeley, 49, and Alison Hammond, 50, remains untouched.

With Good Morning Britain - which will now be made by ITN, the organisation that creates ITV News, instead of ITV Studios - taking the 9-10am slot for 22 weeks of the year, it means Lorraine will front all five days of the remaining 30 weeks.

And Lorraine - who previously described the cutbacks to her show as "heartbreaking" - hopes the audience will stay with her amid the network's brutal budget cuts.

She recently told The Standard: "My show's been on it half past eight, quarter to nine, and nine o'clock, 10 past nine.

"So hopefully the audience will still stay with us, because that's the most important thing to me, is you know, that the audience are still enjoying what I do and the fact that people are so kind and they still watch after all these years and when I go out and about, people greet me like their friend, which is really, really lovely.

"And I don't think that happens to all that many people. You know that you've got that connection, primarily because I've been doing it for so long, but it's something that I never, ever take for granted, and I never take any of this for granted. I really don't, because it's, it's an honour.

"The show continues. And obviously it’s only going to be the half hour ... but you know what, we’re still here. We’re still here."
