Emily Atack is reportedly being lined up to host the Blind Date revival.

The iconic dating show - which was originally fronted by late television icon Cilla Black from 1985 to 2003 on ITV - is set for a comeback on Disney+, and the streamer is said to be looking at the Rivals and Inbetweeners star as its host.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column: "Execs want someone youthful, fun and glamorous but also relatable to the youngsters who’ll form the bulk of the contestants.

“Emily has always been candid about her own roller-coaster love life, before eventually finding the right man and settling down with a family.

“She’d be an inspiration to many of the youngsters looking for love and happiness, but also a famous face that many people view as someone they could relate to.”

Emily also has links to former host Cilla as her own mother, entertainer Kate Robbins, actually wrote the theme song for Surprise! Surprise!

Kate even provided the voice for Cilla's puppet on satirical sketch show Spitting Image.

Cilla died aged 72 in 2015, and two years later Channel 5 launched a brief Blind Date revival with Paul O'Grady, which ran for four series until 2019.

An insider previously told The Sun over the summer how bosses were keep to keep the spirit of the original Blind Dates series, while bringing some "modern twists" to the format for the Disney+ reboot.

A source said: "Although there’s likely to be some modern twists, the bosses very much want to keep the essence of the original.

“There’ll be key elements returning, including the famous sliding wall.

“Plus there will be a prize up for grabs of a wedding package, which echoes Cilla’s famous gag whenever couples had enjoyed a successful date, and she used to ask, ‘Do I need to buy an ‘at for the wedding?’ ”
