Lorraine Kelly is 'a little bit intimidated' by glitzy red carpets
ITV star Lorrain Kelly has admitted she finds red carpet appearances "a little bit intimidating".
Lorraine Kelly finds red carpet events "intimidating".
The 65-year-old presenter - who has hosted her eponymous ITV show Lorraine since 2010, having previously starred on the likes of Good Morning Britain, GMTV, This Morning and Daybreak for the channel - admitted despite often appearing at glitzy events and award ceremonies, she's still not used to the idea of getting all glammed up.
She told Bella magazine: "If I'm honest, I'm not particularly great at all of that red carpet stuff, but it's part of the job.
"I'll go along and have a great evening out, but it can be a little bit intimidating.
"I'm very lucky I have a great makeup artist and stylist who do it all for me - I'm like a toddler when it comes to getting ready!"
With the festive seaason approaching, the TV star insisted while she will still "look nice and festive", she's going to dress practically so she can enjoy time with her daughter Rosie's 15-month-old baby Billie.
She added: "I'm going cosy" I'm going to wear the black velvet trousers and top co-ord from my [Lorraine Loves] collection.
"My husband does the cooking, but I'll be tidying up and playing with my granddaughter, Billie, so I want to look nice and festive, but wear something that is practical and also comfortable."
The New Year will bring big changes for Lorraine's show, which is being clashed from an hour to just 30 minutes a day, as well as being broadcast on a 30-week "seasonal basis" from Januaray 2026 as part of ITV cuts.
She previously told BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs: "I was disappointed, of course I was. This is the world that we live in now.
"Things have to change, I mean, I've been through so many regime changes in my life.
"For me, this is just another one, but it's seismic. The thing that has upset me the most is the fact that we've got this great team, and obviously, that's not going to be in place next year because jobs will go.
"Hopefully I'll be able to hang on to some of these amazing people - that's my aim. It's very, very sad. It really is."
